Twilight is a typical boy meets girl, something-stands-in-the-way love story. But what isn't typical is that Edward Cullen, the male lead, is a vampire.

The film is based on the best-selling children's book by author Stephanie Meyer. It has grossed more than $382 million worldwide. And the latest episode in the Twilight saga, "New Moon", is already breaking box-office records of its own. In its North American midnight showings on the 21 November it beat the latest Harry Potter saga by taking $26.3 million.

Despite competition at the box office from "New Moon", Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, still has a loyal fan following. Visually stunning, the film was released in the summer to mixed reviews, however there are still two long-awaited films to follow.

The 2008 film, Slumdog Millionaire scooped eight Oscar's this year, including best director and for its screenplay. It's not hard to see why, as it's a melodramatic crowd pleaser with a great cast. Set in the slums of Mumbai, it has ex street-kid Jamel Malik ( former Skins' actor, Dev Patel) taking part against the odds in the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." The film contains flashbacks of his life on the street, and of course, the obligatory love-interest.
