UK weather reports for the summer seem to be fairly promising this year, which is brilliant news. The great thing about a sunny summer is that you don't really need to plan to do too much (unless you want to go away on holiday). You can simply pack some food up in a picnic hamper and find an open space to spend the day, soaking up the rays.
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year when the sun rises at its earliest and sets at its latest, therefore we get the most amount of daylight hours. Many years ago, pagans would celebrate this day and in fact there are still many people today who follow paganism and mark this event. Celebrations are held at Stonehenge, an ancient pagan site, and on this day visitors are allowed free access to the stones. Usually no one is allowed near them.
