Researchers put a range of very diverse respondents into two separated rooms. One group was to play current car racing games such as "Gran Turismo" on their consoles, while the respondents in the other rooms merely watched the games. Afterwards, both groups were asked whether they could imagine purchasing one of the cars involved, which led to a result that was more than clear. After their simulated race, the active gamers claimed to be 50% more ready to purchase one of the cars raced. Could this be a target market that car manufacturers will throw themselves upon, given the 30 billion dollars that are spent annually on the video gaming market?

So that the UK car industry can start breathing again, we recommend taking a look at the gallery, with pictures from the console game "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue". You never know, maybe people will be queuing up to buy the game and then dash off to their car dealer shortly thereafter?
