No matter the time of year, a visit to the beach can be refreshing way to spend an afternoon. Whether you're wading in the water in your favorite colorful swimwear or collecting sea shells while bundled up in a windbreaker, it's always fun to spend time by the water. And it's even better when your four legged friend gets to come along!

Fortunately, there are tons of dog-friendly beaches around the globe, so you may not have to travel far if you want to take your dog to the beach. Just ask Australian dog owner Nova and her beach-loving pup!

On March 18 in Melbourne, Nova caught her little dog deep in thought as he watched the waves crash under a sunset sky. The video has quickly become popular on TikTok, with thousands of people wondering what the sweet pup was thinking about.

Aww--there's something so sweet and even emotional about this scene, even if no one can quite put their finger on what it is. Having a moment by oneself during a beautiful sunset can bring about some very sentimental thoughts, and I'm not the only one wondering if this little dog is feeling the same way.

"So beautiful that an animal has the sense to stop and appreciate beauty and take it all in," commented @warrenroma. "We really need to do this as much as possible." You're so right! This short video is a wonderful reminder for all of us living in a fast-paced world. It's okay to slow down sometimes! That's when you can truly take in life's beauty, after all.

One of the reasons dog owners love their fur babies so much is because of how present they are. Dogs live 100% in-the-moment, and it allows them to experience so much joy. Even if dogs don't see the same color spectrum that humans do, they can certainly enjoy a warm beach breeze as the day's light begins to turn more colorful.

Dog Safety at the Beach

As precious as this moment is, it's also a great time to remind pet parents about the importance of beach safety for dogs. Even if a dog as shown swimming proficiency in a pool or lake, the ocean can become unpredictable! Something as simple as a canine life jacket could save their life in an emergency.

However, water isn't the only danger at the beach. Dogs can become sick from inhaling or consuming even minuscule amounts of sand, so be careful when playing fetch or allowing your dog to dig in the sand. With a little preparation and mindfulness, you and your dog can have a safe and fun beach trip!
