I need to make this quick because I'm pretty sure this is going to sell out.

Today only, and while supplies last, Best Buy has the NordicTrack Commercial S15i Studio Cycle for $1,000, the lowest price on record. It normally sells for $1,600 (not $1,800 as indicated on the product page). If you've been eyeballing a Peloton but couldn't handle the sticker shock, this is definitely worth a look.

The S15i is an indoor studio bike with a few interesting tricks up its sleeve — and a few annoyances you should consider before buying. I can speak to both because I own one.

The bike is extremely sturdy, with a magnetic-resistance flywheel, a multi-speed fan and adjustable everything: seat, handlebars and so on. Its 15-inch touchscreen can rotate for off-bike exercises and classes; you'll find an abundance of the latter as part of your iFit subscription.

That subscription costs $39 per month. Unfortunately, NordicTrack no longer offers the first year free; now you get just 30 days. What's more, while iFit pricing is more or less in line with what Peloton charges, the iFit user interface is clunky and confusing.

However, riding the S15i is pretty sweet, in part because of the mechanical piston that can adjust your incline, effectively simulating the effect of riding uphill and downhill. What's more, many classes include instructor-controlled incline and resistance, so you don't have to constantly fiddle with knobs or controls.

I especially like iFit's scenic rides, which transport you to beautiful locations around the world — a nice alternative to studio classes.

It's worth nothing that there's a newer version of this bike available from NordicTrack proper, one that offers a key feature missing here: Bluetooth. This model supports only wired headphones. What's more, if you buy the 2021 S15i from NordicTrack, the $1,600 price tag includes both delivery and assembly.

But this isn't hard to assemble yourself, especially if you have a second set of hands to help out. And there's no question the S15i can give you a great workout. While I do have some quibbles with it, this substantial discount makes them easier to overlook.
