A tiny studio in west London that is the size of a garage is available to buy for £395,000.

If you decide to pay the eye-watering price tag, you will get a home that measures just 22.6 square metres.

The “unique property” in Stewart's Grove, Chelsea, has one bedroom, a bathroom and reception, according to the listing.

It adds the home, which doesn’t have a garden, needs refurbishing.

The property, which is similar in size to an average garage, also has a colourful exterior and front door that opens directly on to the street.

The description of the property says: "A unique, freehold studio located in the heart of Chelsea.

"This ideally located property has the potential to be a fantastic London home or rental investment.

"Stewarts Grove is situated between the King's Road and Fulham Road.

"Chelsea Green, St Luke's Gardens and South Kensington are all within walking distance."

British house prices rose for the fourth month running last month so it doesn't look like the property in Chelsea will be decreasing in value anytime soon.

Property prices increased by 0.9% month-on-month in October following a 1.7% rise in September, mortgage lender Halifax said.

It brought the average house price to £270,027 - up 8.1% on October 2020.

The average UK price is still well short of the £395,000 required for the garage-sized property.

But it's nowhere near the price range of the country's most expensive streets, which are all in London.

The most expensive is Kensington Palace Gardens (W8), with an average property price of £29,898,000.

Courtenay Avenue (N6), at £19,440,000 and Grosvenor Crescent (SW1X), at £17,212,000, are second and third respectively.

The fourth most expensive street is Ilchester Place (W14), at £15,220,000, and a property at The Boltons (SW10), comes in fifth at £14,223,000.
