A tiny flat smaller than the average UK parking space is on the market for £150,000 in an affluent part of London.

The studio in Notting Hill, West London, is just 79sq ft in area - compared to the average UK parking space that works out at around 122sq ft.

In some areas of the country, the price tag could potentially buy you a house with a few bedrooms and maybe even a garden.

But this studio is just one room, incorporating both 'kitchen' - made up of a cupboard with sink and hotplate on top of it - and a shower within touching distance of the bed.

Floorplans show a separate toilet in the corner of the room, which measures 9ft 3ins by 8ft 4ins in total.

The flat, listed on Zoopla, is described as a "bolt hole" with the condition that it can't be let or occupied as a permanent residence and must be a cash purchase.

The listing says the property "requires modernisation throughout and could become a wonderful base for someone".

It describes its location as "in the heart of Notting Hill with all the local amenities restaurants, bars and shops of Westbourne Grove, Portobello and Notting Hill Gate".

It is also close to both Notting Hill Gate and Ladbroke Grove tube stations, offering "quick and easy access into the City and West End".
