Do you own products that were recalled this week? Our list includes a popular steamer, Walmart food chopper and more

You do a lot to keep your family safe, from installing video security doorbells and investing in carbon monoxide detectors to switching to reusable water bottles. Well, here's one simple thing you might not be doing, but should: keeping an eye out for recalled products. This week, major recalls include a Black + Decker garment steamer that might spray hot water, a mini food chopper with a blade that may spin unexpectedly and Veggie Straws with a potentially undeclared milk allergen. If you have any of these items in your home, you'll want to get rid of them ASAP.

If you want to stay up to date on recalls, we'll be back here every Friday to help out. (You can also take a look at past recalls just to be safe.) And check these sites for daily updates:

⛔ Recalled: Black & Decker Easy Garment Steamer

More than 2 million of the steamers have been recalled because they pose a risk of causing serious burns. (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission)

No, your steamer shouldn't be leaking scalding hot water. Empower Brands is recalling more than 2 million Black & Decker Easy Garment Steamers for leaking or spraying hot water. The device was recalled in November 2022 and the company repaired affected units, but it's recalling them again after continued injury reports. Empower, Black & Decker's parent company, has received 317 reports of hot water being expelled from the steamers and 82 reports of burn injuries. Seven of those incidents included second-degree burns.

  • Where were they sold? Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target and Walmart

  • What to do: Stop using the steamer immediately and contact Empower Brands through this self-serve portal to receive a full refund, even if your steamer was among units that were previously repaired.

  • Alternative option: Looking for a steamer that's portable enough to take on a trip? Amazon shoppers love this affordable option.

Thule is recalling over 8,000 rear-mounted child bike seats because the harness padding may contain a flame retardant, DecaBDE, over regulatory limits. The chemical can be toxic if ingested or if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. The recalled seat is gray with a black three-point harness. The model number (100107) and date code (21/3-23/10) can be found on the bottom side.

  • Where were they sold? Amazon, REI and select baby stores

  • What to do: Thule is contacting affected customers. However, if you think you have a recalled seat, stop using it and reach out to the brand to receive free replacement harness padding and return the recalled padding.

  • Alternative option: While you may have to pause bike rides until you get the replacement piece, you can keep your toddler entertained with these awesome toys.
