If you stay up-to-date with homeware trends, chances are you've already seen that boucle fabric is having a moment.

The trendy, textured French fabric is currently covering everything from cushions to sofas and accent chairs on my Instagram feed and features in almost every interiors magazine I flick through.

However, the cosy and luxurious-looking furniture does come at a price. The Garret Chair, which is one of the most popular boucle designs on my social media feed, retails for £1,695 from Soho House.

I, however, really didn't want to spend over £200 on a new accent chair, so went on the hunt for a more budget-friendly option. But it wasn't easy.

In fact, for a while it seemed like the only way to do it was to take the lead from a few savvy bargain lovers on Instagram who cleverly up-cycled second hand chairs.

But finding an aesthetically-pleasingly-shaped chair, sourcing the fabric and then getting it upholstered would still take me well over my budget.

So, it was back to the drawing board and my hopes were dwindling until I came across a fairly new chair at Homebase.

The Tori Tub Boucle Chair was not only made from soft lambswool style boucle fabric, it also featured a modern tub silhouette with a curved backrest that looked equally sophisticated and practical for cosying up with a book or glass of wine.

The very affordable £175 price tag also got a massive green tick for being within budget.

It almost seemed too good to be true, so like any good shopping editor, I did more digging.

I was mostly concerned about the colour of the fabric - will it be stark white or come with a bit of a yellow tinge? The online imagery didn't quite make it clear.

A quick scroll through Homebase's tagged page on Instagram (AKA the best place to find IRL images of products), I discovered that the new Tori Tub Boucle Chair was in fact the latest version of the already best-selling £95 Sean Boucle Occasional Chair.

The accent chair came in a more minimal 'cocktail' silhouette and was already a favourite with homeware fans, which led to Homebase releasing it in a whopping seven colours, which continuously sold out.

After being impressed with the Instagram images from happy customers of the the original chair (which I might add is currently on sale), I bit the bullet and bought the latest Tori Tub Boucle Chair - and it did not disappoint.

Firstly it's very, very easy to put together. It took me five minutes max, as all you need to do is screw the four legs in with the hex key provided.

I can also confirm that it's as soft and comfy to curl up in as it looks.

While I know it isn't everyone's taste (my mum just sent me a ton of sheep emojis when I sent her a photo), I'm very happy with my budget-friendly find and no one can believe it was only under £200.

For those worried about spills and stains, the chair also comes in black and by the looks of things there are even matching foot-stools for just £30, should you want to go all-out.

Homebase has now expanded it's very popular boucle range to boast 17 items, with numerous chair styles ranging from mid century to more modern chunky styles.

There's also 20% off a huge selection of its stylish furniture at the moment, from rattan sideboards to a range of pieces from it's boucle collection, so if you're after a new addition for your home it's definitely worth a browse.
