Cornwall named England's most beautiful county
It's famous for its quaint fishing villages and idyllic beaches, and now British tourists have named Cornwall the most picturesque county in England.
A poll by Sykes Cottages asked Britons to vote for the most beautiful county, with Yorkshire, Cumbria and Devon making the top ten list.
One in five Brits (20 per cent) said the stunning coastline and historic countryside make Cornwall the most scenic area in England.
Home to two national parks, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire took second place on the list, with 18 per cent naming it the most picturesque county.
Cumbria, home of the Lake District, was voted third most beautiful (11.5 per cent), while Devon, with the Dartmoor National Park at its heart and Jurassic Coast to the East, took 11 per cent of the vote.
The findings echo a recent report from Google which found Cornwall was the fifth most searched for destination last year and the only UK destination in the top ten list.
