Labrador Gets Complimented on His ‘Nice Stick’ and It’s the Best
If you're looking for something to brighten your day, this video that adventurer Vanessa Keating posted to Instagram in July is it! Vanessa was the first person to solo hike the Colorado River from source to sea to bring awareness to the southwestern water crisis. She walks a lot, and recently she was on a 10-mile walk with her dog Bryce, a Labrador mix, when he found the perfect stick. Walkers, bikers, and runners they passed by all went out of their way to tell him what a nice stick it was!
Make sure your sound is on when you watch Vanessa's video. So many people the two passed made sure to say, "Nice stick!", "Big stick!" and he even got a, "That's an impressive stick!" Peoples' reactions to Bryce's stick are pretty funny!

I was so surprised by how many people said something to him about his stick! Vanessa's video made me smile, and I love how proud Bryce looked about finding that perfect stick and walking with it in his mouth for so far! Others loved the video too and left more than 2 thousand comments about it. @lolitscorona pointed out, "*Dog has a stick* Humans: You have a stick!" @bosewah made me laugh when they said, 'Neck muscles of a Greek god!" and @shann_the_man added, "Big stick energy!" @LynnMarad got more than 62 thousand likes when she said, "He’s the branch manager."
@ScarletteLowin also cracked me up when she admitted, "I apologize to all the dog owners who I have made "highly original and extremely witty" remarks to. Thank all of you for your patience and understanding, I now realize you've heard it all a million times." I also laughed at the commenter who shared, "This is the video I want the aliens to receive first."

Why Do Dogs Like Sticks?
There is nothing that my dog likes more than a good stick. Our backyard deck is covered with sticks of all shapes and sizes, as well as bark that she's chewed off of all of the sticks. So why do dogs like sticks so much?
An article in The Science Times explains that the stick-chasing instinct may have originated from the ancestral wolves that hunted large prey with them. It's also a great way to satisfy a dog's instincts and mental and physical health; it gives them something to do while providing an outlet for stress relief.
Playing with sticks is also fun! To find the stick, they have to sniff and explore the environment before choosing the perfect one. Sticks can be found just about anywhere and are also multi-functional; your pooch can carry, toss, catch, and destroy it...most of the time without you getting mad at them when they do it.
While playing with sticks may seem mostly harmless (although quite messy), there are potential health hazards including choking, vomiting pieces of sticks back up, and even more serious medical issues. Make sure when your pooch finds the perfect stick that you keep an eye on them to ensure they're playing with it safely.
