Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan will be extradited to the UK, following a decision by a court in Romania that came after the UK issued warrants for their arrest.

The pair were detained on Monday evening on arrest warrants over alleged sexual offences in the UK.

What is Andrew Tate accused of in the UK?

Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested over sexual offences alleged to have occurred in the UK.

The details of the allegations are not yet clear, but Romanian police told the BBC the two arrest warrants were issued for allegedly exploiting people in the UK.

According to PA Media, it is understood the current arrest warrant, issued by Westminster Magistrates’ Court, relates to alleged offences being investigated by Bedfordshire Police.

In a statement, Bedfordshire Police said: “As part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of rape and human trafficking, Bedfordshire Police has obtained a European arrest warrant for two men in their 30s.

"We are working with authorities in Romania as part of this investigation and will provide an update in due course.

"We understand this is a distressing subject, and people may be impacted by what they are seeing in the news. Bedfordshire Police takes all reports of sexual offences seriously, and further support is available via our website or by calling 101.

"Anyone with information about this specific investigation should call 101, and quote Operation Moonwalk."

Meanwhile, plans to launch a civil case involving four women who accused Andrew Tate of rape and sexual assault in the UK between 2012 and 2015 are ongoing.

This followed a decision in 2019 by the Crown Prosecution Service not to take a case against Tate over allegations of sexual violence and physical abuse following a four-year investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary.

The lawyers representing the four women, McCue Jury & Partners, said on Tuesday that they had written to British police to request the detention of Tate and his brother Tristan over fears the influencer would flee Romania.

The law firm said: "Last week, we received information that Tate might have been planning to flee Romania, where he is due to stand trial for separate allegations of rape and human trafficking.

“We wrote to the British police to bring this to their attention and to urge them to immediately seek a warrant for Tate’s detention in Romania and extradition to the UK.”
