Katie Price can 'relate' to Meghan Markle wanting 'right to privacy'

Katie Price has said she can "relate" to Meghan Markle's comments on wanting to maintain privacy while being in the public eye.

In a clip that wasn't shown in the main broadcast of Oprah Winfrey's interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan said she thought "everyone has a basic right to privacy".

Responding to the video on Wednesday's instalment of Steph's Packed Lunch on Channel 4, Price reflected on her own experiences.

The former glamour model told host Steph McGovern: "When I watched that I could relate it a lot of ways.

"When you put yourself out there in the public eye, done reality shows like I have, if you're going to be in the public eye you do have to expect the media will write stuff, they will try and turn up and take pictures of you if you don't want it, and that's part and parcel of it.

"But I do believe, because I have this as well, that when you're at home you should be allowed privacy at home. I've had drones go over the property, I don't think they should be allowed to do that. I don't think they should be allowed to wait at the end of your driveway."

In the unaired clip, Markle said: "I think everyone has a basic right to privacy. Basic. We're not talking about anything that anybody else wouldn't expect."

She added: "There's no one who's on Instagram or social media that would say, 'Because I shared this one picture, that entitles you to have my entire camera roll. Go ahead and look through it. No one would want that."

The Sussexes opened up in the interview about the "toxic environment" of "control and fear" they felt had been created by the UK's tabloid media.

They said the Royal Family's press team had also failed to defend them from untrue stories.
