Kate Garraway reveals husband Derek Draper can barely talk

Kate Garraway has revealed her husband Derek Draper can barely talk amid his ongoing recovery from Covid-19.

Speaking on Radio 2 to Zoe Ball, she said: "He isn't really able to speak at the moment so he can't tell them off.

"I have to be the bad guy! They are my heroes.

"They know instinctively how to talk to him but not ask too much from him."

She said Derek requires "24-hour care" but added: "The hope is he will be able to progress."

Although Draper no longer has Covid, it has taken a devastating toll and he now has suffers from numerous health problems.

He suffered multiple organ failure, and sustained damage to his liver and pancreas. The ordeal also left him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and made him diabetic. He's also undergone a tracheotomy.
