It seems that Hugh Grant is all ready to admit that he might rub up some of his co-stars the wrong way.

The Four Weddings And A Funeral star has said that Renée Zellweger, who he starred opposite in the Bridget Jones movies, is 'one of the few' co-stars he didn't end up falling out with.

Appearing on the Jess Cagle Show on US radio station SiriusXM, he said: “I love Renée. She's one of the few actresses I haven't fallen out with.

“And, we, we got on very well together and, we still exchange long emails.

“Hers in particular, at least 70 pages each, interesting stuff, but quite hard to decipher and, she's a properly good egg and a genius. Did you see her Judy Garland? About as good as acting gets.”

Zellweger was lauded for her role in the 2019 biopic Judy, winning her the Oscar for Best Actress at the 2020 Oscars.

Grant played the caddish Daniel Cleaver in the 2001 adaptation of Helen Fielding's hit novel, facing off against his love rival Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth.

He then reprised his role Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason in 2004, though he pulled out of appearing in the comeback movie Bridget Jones's Baby in 2016.

It was said at the time that it was due to creative differences over the movie's script.

Grant is currently starring in hit US thriller series The Undoing for HBO, alongside Nicole Kidman.

Based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, they play a wealthy New York couple embroiled in the murder of a young woman.

The finale aired on Monday night, however, it landed to some mixed reviews.
