Holly Willoughby goes viral in Denmark thanks to psychic banana

Holly Willoughby has gone viral in Denmark with the help of a psychic banana.

The This Morning presenter consulted with the banana on today’s episode in order to predict the outcome of the England v Denmark Euros 2020 semi-final later today.

“The only person that really, really knows though is this guy," Willoughby declared, showing off the yellow fruit and holding it to the camera.

"If you haven't seen the psychic banana before, we ask it a yes or no question and then we cut the end off and if it's got a little 'yeh' in it for yes, it's yes, and a dot means no.”

When she asked the banana ‘will England win tonight, yes or no?’ the psychic banana responded with a “big fat yes”.

Willoughby’s unique method of predicting the future seemingly struck a chord over in Denmark, and soon made its way across the country.

Returning from an ad break, a delighted Phillip Schofield announced: "It’s official, we’ve gone viral in Denmark!

"A clip of us making our predictions with the psychic banana, wow, has gone behind enemy lines and has been shared in the Ofelia Square in Copenhagen."

Photos of Willoughby beaming with the banana on a massive billboard in the country capital were then shared, making her beam with delight.

Underneath the picture was the caption: “You are now officially a Euro 2020 hashtag hero This Morning.”

Both Schofield and Willoughby were surprisingly touched by the gesture, noting how friendly it was to England despite their upcoming football clash.

"They’re very nice people aren’t they? Very nice," Willoughby said.

"I've always loved the Danes, they're lovely people,” Schofield added. “Denmark is a gorgeous country."

The Euros semi-finals kick-off between England and Denmark will happen at 8pm this evening.

England last won against the country’s team in 2002 World Cup, and it’s only the third time the teams have faced each other in a major tournament.
