If you have a naughty dog that loves to get into things that they shouldn't this video that Three Long Dogs posted about her guilty Dachshund will make you laugh! Mom posted the video on Saturday, March 23rd after one of her dogs stole a McDonald's iced coffee off of the table, and dragged it across the couch, making a big mess in the process.

The video begins with mom showing us the evidence - the empty coffee cup. The dog is lying on the couch, pretending to be completely unaware of any problem or misdeed. Watch for side eye - you can definitely tell his side eye game is strong!

Three Long Dogs' mom says in her caption, "He didn't move the entire time. Guilty as charged." She knew he was trying to avoid getting in trouble! And his side eye cracked me up...he looked at her like, "What's the problem?" Commenter @debramartino got a kick out of the reaction, "The two little tail wags… "Thanks for taking care of that for me”!" and @Em J added, ""That seems like a you problem Mom" LOL!" @Mark Andrade laughed as he pointed out, "He gave you the “How dare you blame me!!!” look!!!"

Cute Dogs Getting Into Trouble

We recently got a puppy, and she definitely knows when she's doing something naughty but tries to play it off, too! Dogs know when they get into something that they're not supposed to, and they all give you the 'guilty' look afterwards...most of the time. Vet Street reminds us that does aren't actually feeling guilt, "Your dog’s guilty look may not indicate guilt at all; instead, it is most likely a reaction to a human’s upset or angry response. Two studies, one led by Alexandra Horowitz and the other by Julie Hecht, found that when a dog is confronted by an angry or upset owner, he is more likely to present the guilty look, independent of actual guilt or innocence."

This dog's guilty reaction makes me think that he knows he wasn't supposed to get the pretzels as does this one who stole his mom's pizza. And this dog looked fabulous and guilty after getting into mom's glitter!

This dog stole his dad's $20 chicken parmesan right off the counter, and completely ignored his dad's questioning without one bit of remorse. It must've been a good meal and worth getting in trouble for!

They say cats can be pretty sneaky, but did you know they can frame others for things that they've done? This cat stole socks that she wasn't supposed to have, and when caught, blamed it on the dog!

If nothing else, I think these funny scenarios confirm that much like kids, dogs definitely react to getting caught in the act in very different ways.
