When you bring home a new pet it's only polite to show them around and give them a lay of the land, right? Well that's exactly what one woman did for her Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix puppy and the little tour she did for the dog has people online cracking up.

The hobby farmer and social media star recently got her puppy, Shepherd. So naturally she had to show him the ropes.

In the video the woman, who goes by Mommy Farmer online, shared, she invited her Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix to help her with barn chores.

"First we gotta feed the pigs because Mr. Gus is not a very patient piggy," she told the dog in the clip.

Then it was time to feed the horses and say hello to the barn cats. But the mom did have to issue a warning: "The barn kitties are just for petting and kisses — not for chasing, Okay?" she explained.

After going through several more chores around the farm, Shepherd was pooped. The poor dog needed a nap by the end of the video.

Commenters were impressed by Shepherd's first day on the job. "I think he needs a notepad Mom. That’s a lot of information to remember," one person advised. "Oh we DEFINITELY need a Scout voiceover of her 'training' Shepard," someone else added, referring to the Corgi that already lives at the farm. "He launched at those ducks with a big 'Well HI!!'" another person teased. "That was a lot of learning. Tuckers a puppy out," added one commenter.

Best Livestock Guardian Breeds

Something tells us that Shepherd is there to protect all the other animals on the farm. Both Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherds are known as great livestock guardian dogs. There are many other breeds that are good for herding and protecting other animals too.

Kuvasz are Hungarian-bred and are very loyal and protective.

Tibetan Mastiffs have a huge mane of hair and are large dogs to match. These dogs can reach a whopping 150 lbs., but are extremely loyal to their owners. These dogs tend to be even more vocal at night, but are still amazing pets.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are another large dog that can keep your livestock safe. Not only are these dogs smart and easily trainable, but they are great family dogs and are reliable protectors.

So it seems that Shepherd has some pretty big shoes to fill. Luckily, we think his owner will give him a lot of wiggle room.
