Animals helping animals — is there anything better? There's something truly so heartwarming about seeing two creatures protecting each other. Like a Golden Retriever who is obsessed with the 'field puppies' (aka, cows) who live next door.

Boris is not only a huge fan of the cows who live on the other side of the fence, he is their biggest protector too.

Boris lives with his two other Golden siblings; Lily and Darcy, But seems to take the role of "cow protector" very seriously, In a video his owner shared online, it shows Boris picking up on a serious threat to a new "field puppy' calf — a sheet of plastic that was caught on its foot.

Have no fear, little calf! Boris is here and he is ready to help. The Golden Retriever ran over and snatched the plastic away from the calf and then ran it all the way home where it could thrown in the "garboosh."

Boris was so proud of himself. "Today I saved two curious field puppy babies," the caption reads.

The pup wasn't the only one who was proud of his quick-thinking. "Boris you are the best boy ever," one woman praised. "What a good boy, everyone is so proud of you," someone else cheered. "Crying over Boris helping the field pups," chimed in a second woman. "All the dopamine I needed today. He’s the bestest boi," another commenter agreed.

Goldens Are Great With Other Animals

If you're a multipet household, there is not greater dog breed to add to your brood than a Golden Retriever. They're called Goldens for a reason!

Along with Labrador Retrievers, Beagles, Standard Poodles, and and Australian Shepherd, Goldens regularly rank as one of the top breeds that get along with other animals. To put it simply, Goldens just want to love and be loved by everyone. These dogs are usually excited to meet other animals, so it's no surprise that Boris is in love with the "field puppies" nextdoor.

In general, Goldens are loyal, friendly, and smart. They make excellent family dogs and are eager to please to their owners. Goldens are easy to train too!

These dogs are actually part of the sporting group — meaning a group of dog breeds that they are hardworking and need time outside where they can burn off all that energy.

It sure is lucky for these cows that Boris lives nearby. He'll always be there for them whenever there's trouble.
