Police have arrested a woman after she allegedly deflated the Donald Trump baby blimp with a pair of scissors.

The woman, who has been named in reports as Tommy Robinson supporter Amy Beth Dallamura, livestreamed the attack on the 20ft balloon during the Trump protests in London.

She apparently claimed the attack on the controversial blimp - that was also used in Trump protests in 2018 - was a birthday present to herself.

As she stabbed the giant Trump inflatable, Dallamura shouted: “That’s a disgrace.”

Anti-Trump protestors were later pictured picking up the deflated blimp.

A Metropolitan police spokesperson said: “As of 5pm on Tuesday, 4 June, one female has been arrested for being in possession of a pointed/bladed article.”

Dallamura has reportedly been seen at previous marches in support of former EDL leader Mr Robinson.

Trump will be greeted by images of the baby blimp effigy of himself when he visits Portsmouth on the final day of his state visit today.

Special Patrol Group, a campaign group which "hacks" advertising boards, has plastered images of the balloon, which flew over Parliament Square on Tuesday, to bus shelters in the city.

Mr Trump will visit Portsmouth alongside the Queen, Prime Minister and other world leaders for a national commemoration ceremony, 75 years after the D-Day landings.
