Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim’s son Woody Cook has claimed he is so poor he cannot afford to buy bread.

The 20-year-old student - who took part in Channel 4 reality show The Circle in 2019 - revealed his famous parents have cut him off financially to teach him he must work hard for a living.

Woody told the Mirror: "My parents make it clear that I was born into a privilege they have had to work their ass off to get.

"My parents have cut me off completely. They are like, ‘Do you want to be a trust fund child or do you want to work?’ I want to work, so I am now self-sufficient. I don’t have a student loan.

"I am doing it all by myself. The other day I couldn’t afford bread, but I’m working through it."

But the Celebrity Gogglebox star admits that despite learning not to rely on his parents, he still parties hard while living at home with his mother - who presents the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.

Woody said: “I can be a right creature. My poor mum is the one who gets up at half four every morning to go to work on the radio and I’ll be off my nut. Me and my mates will be stumbling around the house still up and mum is like, ‘Hi, I’m off to work’.”

Former Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Ball, 50, was revealed earlier this year to be the highest earning female star at the BBC with an annual salary of £980k. She is the daughter of TV presenter Johnny Ball, 83.

Fatboy Slim, also known as Norman Cook - was born Quentin Cook and attended Reigate Grammar School where he shared music lessons with Labour leader Keir Starmer.

The 58-year-old musician originally found fame as a guitarist in The Housemartins before becoming a globally successful DJ in the 90s and early 00s at Fatboy Slim and has an estimated net worth of around £17m.

Woody came out as bisexual in 2019, and revealed at the time his mother was a little confused at first.

He said: “Her first reaction was: ‘You can’t be, you like girls?.’ I got her to look back upon her group of friends and she started to realise she knew more bi people than she thought. I think it was a bigger thing in her time.”

But he added: “My friendship group is really laid-back, and I think this is sort of the age of bisexuality. We’ve come to a new age where sexuality is so much less of a thing…

“All my friends were really accepting at the time. I did get a bit of s**t at my school for a while, but at the end of the day, I don’t really care.”

Ball and Cook married in 1999. They split briefly in 2003 after Ball admitted to having an affair. They also have a daughter Nelly, born in 2010. They separated in 2016 after 18 years together.
