Zara McDermott shares trauma of recovering from COVID

Zara McDermott has revealed the tough time she has been having with long-term effects of coronavirus.

The 24-year-old former Love Island star had COVID weeks ago, but despite having recovered from the main symptoms of the virus, she told fans that she still couldn't stop being sick.

However, McDermott, who is dating Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson, was quick to confirm that her vomiting was not down to morning sickness.

Sharing her woes on her Instagram stories, she wrote: "I had Covid weeks ago! But I'm suffering really badly from nausea pretty much all day every day. Then when I eat I instantly want to vomit.

"I'm struggling to keep down any foods. I went for dinner and felt instantly sick afterwards but I tried to hold it in. But the feeling just gets more intense until I throw up."

McDermott pleaded for advice, writing: "Has anyone else suffered from this? Why is this happening to me? If you suffered please let me know what helped you. I've thrown up pretty much every day for weeks and it's getting ridiculous now!"

She added: "And no I'm defo not pregnant before anyone asks lol!"

Many of the reality star's fans came forward with their own stories and tips of dealing with the same thing.

She later wrote: "A lot of people seem to have experienced this, some even for months and months after. Which is scary and I really hope it doesn't affect me in this way."

McDermott added: "A lot of people saying they felt this way as a result of the vaccine - I actually haven't had the vaccine yet either because you have to wait for at least a month after having covid to have it I think! So I had to cancel it. But I am going to get it ASAP!"

She and Thompson have recently moved in with his mum while building work is being carried out on their house - as has Thompson's sister Louise and her fiance Ryan Libbey, for the same reason.
