Who will win Celebrity Big Brother 2024? Latest odds

Celebrity Big Brother is back and fans have already got their eyes on the winner, according to the latest odds.

Coronation Street star Colson Smith has emerged as the favourite to win the reality series following the explosive Celebrity Big Brother launch episode that gripped 2.8million people. The actor is a household name, having made his name with his starring role as police constable Craig Tinker on the cobbles. It is a role he has played since 2011.

The launch show of Celebrity Big Brother is already causing a stir, whether that's from the reaction to the lineup to who the celebrity people want to see win the reality format. Betting giant William Hill revealed the actor has now been backed into 3/1 after attracting 18% of the total bets in the book. Initially when the betting had started, he had odds of 11/2.

Ekin Su Culculoglu had previously been an early favourite to win before the show had aired on TV. Now her odds have dropped from 7/2 to 9/2. Now the Love Island winner is in joint second with Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches.

Colson Smith on Celebrity Big Brother

Moments before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, Smith sweetly described it as a "pinch me moment" when discussing the reality series with hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu. Also the actor said it was "absolute madness" that now he was going to be on the show he used to talk about at school.

He introduced himself saying: "I'm an actor, I'm best known for playing Craig Tinker in Coronation Street for the past 13 years. Celebrity Big Brother returning and me being in it is absolute madness. You know when you're at school and everyone's talking about Big Brother, now it's like I'm going to be on that!"

While he's very familiar with working in front of the camera, Smith revealed why Celebrity Big Brother was going to be a totally new experience for him. He said: "When I first meet people I'm quite socially awkward, I need to work that out as I'm about to meet a big group of strangers. I'm normally judged on a character but now I'm about to be judged on who I am as a person."

He joked: "Hopefully someone wants to be friends with me!"

Why is Colson Smith the favourite to win?

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, has lifted the lid on why Smith is leading the pack of celebrities in the race to win the show.

He said: "Last night’s opening episode of Celebrity Big Brother has seen a shake-up in the outright winner market, with Colson Smith our new favourite to win the 2024 series.

"The Coronation Street actor has been responsible for almost one in five bets in the book and has seen his price shorten from 11/2 when the market first opened to 3/1 as of Tuesday morning. Ekin-Su Culculoglu was our previous favourite but has eased to 9/2 from 7/2, with Lauren Simon the biggest drifter from 12/1 to 25/1."
