BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker joked he will be going topless in Strictly Come Dancing next week as he has started to feel so comfortable on the dancefloor.

The 44-year-old TV presenter and partner Nadiya Bychkova danced their Couple's Choice street dance routine to Classic by MKTO and despite being called "vanilla and saccharine" by judge Craig Revel Horwood, Walker was delighted with his own performance.

After host Claudia Winkleman commented he had undone his top button the news presenter said: "I know. In practice this week I'll go topless!"

He quickly added: "I won't."

But Walker admitted that lifting Bychkova was taking its toll on his buttocks..

He confessed: "My right bum cheek has suffered with all the lifting. I've had to see the physio [therapist]. I've got no hair left on it either."

The couple scored 28/40 for their dance.

Judge Anton du Beke said: "It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was like the greatest hits of you. I want to see you push a bit more. I want a bit more Dan the man."

Revel Horwood said: "It was little bit vanilla and saccharine for me. Sweet street dance - is that a thing? I really and truly like you and I like watching you, but it wasn't great for me. I want you to do well."

Motsi Mabuse told Walker: "You had a bit of a groove there, I did feel that vibe but I feel like it was also a lot of running and that took away from that feel you had. You can do more - so do it. We are waiting for you!"

Head judge Shirley Ballas added: "I think this was way out of your comfort zone. We are used to seeing you in suits. You're funky. I enjoyed the fact that you enjoyed it. It was joyous."
