Sinitta visits nudist spa in shocking Late Night Lycett scenes

What did you miss?

This week's episode of Late Night Lycett featured a surprise appearance by pop star Sinitta, who showed up via video link from an unusual location. At first, it seemed she was on a simple pampering trip, only for it to then emerge she was at a nudist spa.

Sinitta was joined by several naked patrons of the spa and hotel as studio guests Alesha Dixon and Paddy McGuinness reacted with stunned expressions. The 60-year-old singer then reappeared later in the show for an interview with naturists in the hotel's sauna.

Who, what and why?

Joe Lycett introduced Sinitta as part of the latest edition of his 'Hunderstudies' segment, in which he sends his celebrity friends to make public appearances on his behalf. This week, he said he had been contacted by the Clover Hotel and Spa in Birmingham and had sent Sinitta along.

At first, everything appeared normal, with Sinitta relaxing and receiving a hand massage. She was soon joined, however, by several naked people. Lycett swiftly interjected to say he'd "forgot to mention it's a naturist spa".

He added: "We're very body-positive on the show but we can't really have nudity, so we do have Wendy in the gallery trying to censor. She's very good with the black bars. She's the best in the biz."

Those black bars, however, failed to cover the private parts of the various patrons wandering through the shot. On Twitter, viewers loved the segment and were completely taken by surprise.

Sinitta showed up again later in the show to interview some of the naturists in a sauna, learning that one of the women was a police officer. She later asked a clearly Birmingham-accented construction worker if he was "from Newcastle... like Cheryl".

In her final appearance, Sinitta said she would join her new friends in the hotel's hot tub, with an enormous 'Censored' bar filling the screen as the singer dropped her towel in order to go for a bit.

What else happened on Late Night Lycett?

Paddy McGuinness, Alexander Armstrong, and Alesha Dixon appeared with Lycett in the studio, with McGuinness the latest celebrity to join Lycett's character Richard Yewtree in reading some outrageous things from an autocue.

McGuinness also spoke about his decision to appear on Question Time, despite it not being an obvious programme choice for the presenter of Take Me Out and Top Gear. He confessed that it was "nice to stick the boot in the Tories".

"When you’re working class and brought up in a single-parent family, then getting a job that we do, you think you’re fortunate to be doing that and you have a bit of a platform," he said. "And I thought, the state of the country and the NHS which we all use and love, and dentistry, everything, housing, I thought, when they asked me – and it’s terrifying – I thought, I can’t not do it."

Late Night Lycett continues on Fridays at 10pm on Channel 4.
