Lil Nas X had a hilarious response after his post about being pregnant with an album sparked a backlash.

The US rapper announced his new music with a picture showing him pregnant, writing that he was expecting a “little bundle of joy” called Montero.

Most fans were amused by the novel way the star shared his news, but others said on social media that it was “offensive” and accused him of “going too far”. Some said they were annoyed because the rapper was “using pregnancy as a prop”.

The ‘pregnancy shoot’ saw him dressed in flowing white trousers and a white robe, with a bouquet of flowers in his hand and a wreath of flowers on his head.

The singer kneeled by a pool as he cradled his ‘bump’.

“SURPRISE!” he wrote.

“I can’t believe I’m finally announcing this. My little bundle of joy ‘MONTERO’ is due September 17, 2021.”
