Piers Morgan calls Kirstie Allsopp 'unbelievably stupid and privileged' for comments about house buying
Piers Morgan has called Kirstie Allsopp "unbelievably stupid and privileged" for saying young people need to give up their subscription lifestyle if they want to get on the property ladder.
The Location, Location, Location presenter has been criticised for comments she made in the Sunday Times that she bought her first home at the age of 21, with the help of her family, by saving on luxuries.
Morgan tweeted in response: "Every time Kirstie Allsopp trends, I check why and see she’s said another unbelievably stupid, ludicrously ill-informed and woefully privileged thing. Then I wait for her to respond to the entirely justified outrage by throwing her toys out of the pram & quitting Twitter again."

Property expert and craft-lover Allsopp, 50, was quoted as saying: "When I bought my first property, going abroad, the EasyJet, coffee, gym, Netflix lifestyle didn't exist.

"I used to walk to work with a sandwich. And on payday I'd go for a pizza, and to a movie, and buy a lipstick.
"Interest rates were 15 per cent, I was earning £11,500 a year."
She went on: "I don't want to belittle those people who can't do it. But there are loads of people who can do it and don't...
"It's about where you can buy, not if you can buy. There is an issue around the desire to make those sacrifices."
Allsopp has reacted to the backlash on Twitter, saying: "Anyhow who thinks I have spent the last 22 years pretending to understand the needs of British homebuyers must think me a very good actress indeed. If you don’t like the shows don’t watch them. But I’m beyond caring what the press or social media think about me, life is too short."

Allsopp has presented Channel 4 property show Location, Location, Location with Phil Spencer since 2004.
She also hosts crafting shows on the channel including Kirstie's Homemade Home.
It is not the first time former Good Morning Britain presenter Morgan, 56, and Allsopp have clashed on Twitter.
Last year he called her "cretinous" for saying that lockdown was more dangerous to children than Covid-19.
The Keep Crafting And Carry On presenter tweeted: “Covid is a horrible disease but it is very, very, very rare for it to impact children. They are still at far more danger from journeys in cars, or swimming, or trampolining than Covid. Please do not let anyone persuade you otherwise.”

Morgan responded: “Of all the people I least want to hear from when it comes to expert advice on coronavirus, TV estate agent Kirstie Allsopp and her cretinous trampoline analogies are top of the list.”
