The temperatures are set to rise in the UK again in the coming weeks – and Laura Whitmore may have come up with a handy trick for other parents trying to keep their babies cool in the hot weather.

In a post on Instagram, the 36-year-old TV presenter – who is currently in Majorca presenting Love Island – shared a sweet picture of her three-month-old daughter in a pram, wearing adorable "of course I'm cute" socks.

The image, which featured sunny Spanish weather in the background, also showed how the new mother had cleverly strapped a portable fan to the handle that was pointed directly at her little girl.

She welcomed the newborn, along with husband Iain Stirling, in March – and the star appeared to confirm in May that her name is Stevie Ré.

The post was popular with her followers who left more than 84,000 'likes'.

In response to her daughter's socks, Mary Charteris, the DJ, wrote: "She sure is."

This Morning presenter Dr Zoe Williams commented: "Love this."

Many also discussed the handy device keeping her baby cool in the heat.

One person wrote: "I have that fan for myself at home lol it’s quite good."

Another commented: "I could do with that fan."

Tagging their friend, who is also a mum, a third shared: "Get one of these fans."

And a fourth added: "Love the fan."

It comes after Whitmore – who married her comedian husband last autumn – opened up about motherhood and her post-pregnancy body.

On Instagram, the presenter said: "Little tip for speaking to new mums…everyone has a different experience so please don’t put your opinion or expectation on them.”

She added: “I’ve been told I won't be able to leave the house and should feel shit.

"But I actually feel the best I’ve ever felt and the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
