Slade frontman Noddy Holder has partnered with sandwich chain Pret A Manger to bring a touch of Christmas to July.

The Pret Christmas Sandwich is back by popular demand from today (Tuesday 6 July) until the first week of August.

Pret said thousands of fans of the sandwich had called for its return on after they missed out on it last Christmas.

Merry Xmas Everybody singer Holder will be handing out 100 free sandwiches to customers on Tuesday too at the 182 Wardour Street branch in London at 11am, while it will also be available in Pret shops across the nation from 10am and can be ordered via delivery partners like JustEat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

The festive treat is filled with slices of turkey in a port and orange cranberry sauce, pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves and free range mayo - topped off with crispy onions.

Clare Clough, UK Managing Director of Pret A Manger commented: “Every year customers ask us for the Christmas sandwich to return earlier and earlier, and after many customers missed out on having one last year we’ve decided to stand by our mission of spreading joy through our food and coffee, and bring our iconic Christmas sandwich back early for a limited time this summer.

"While we can’t change the weather or the football scores this summer, we can help people celebrate and recreate some festive joy by reuniting them with their favourite Christmas sandwich.”

From every Christmas sandwich sold, 50p will be donated to the The Pret Foundation to tackle homelessness and poverty.

While the chain's vegetarian and vegan Christmas sandwiches won't be made available for the summer, Pret will share the Vegan Nut Roast recipe on their social channels.
