Laundry day seems to come around far too quickly. Not only is it a time-consuming chore, but we hate the way damp clothes take over our home after wash day.
Throw into the mix the ever-changing weather, which means we can't let our clothes dry outside, and it is no surprise we are looking for home gadgets to help.
Why we rate it
The Dry:Soon Drying Pod is a nifty household item to help your laundry dry quickly, especially on those rainy days.
It works to dry clothes quicker than leaving them to air dry, while also being delicate on your garments. The pod has a fan built into the base, which heats air up to 70°C and then circulates it around the pod to dry your clothes efficiently.
It is simple to use, all you have to do is put your laundry on hangers, and perch them on the pod's rails. Then place the hood covering over the dryer, zip it up, switch on the heater and let it work its magic.
As the electric heater requires you to hang your clothing, it means most of your creases will drop out, which in turn means less to iron.
We also love that it's discreet. The fan runs quietly at less than 52 decibels, and if guests were to drop by on laundry day your undies won't be on full display.
It costs 15p an hour to run and has an optional timer that you can set for up to three hours, leaving you free to get through the rest of your to-do list.
What the reviews say
Though the Dry:Soon Drying Pod has only racked up 35 reviews, its average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars has caught our attention. Here's what shoppers have to say:
"Wouldn't be without this! This is a very economical way of drying clothes, which can't go in the tumble dryer and the weather doesn't allow you to line dry. Provided you don't overload it, the washing comes out beautifully soft and dry. My only criticism is that you cannot buy a spare cover."
"Couldn’t be without now. Unfortunately we don’t have a dryer so only have radiators, an airer or washing line in the warmer months. I love my drying pod, just hang up your items, switch round the dial and it starts drying. Not too noisy, sounds just like a fan. Can be folded down if needed."
"This drying pod is amazing. It dries everything really well and in relatively little time. A fantastic piece of kit that takes up little space and can be collapsed down really easily."
"Great machine, worth every penny. When I saw this I ordered it - it is a great compact machine, and doesn't take up much space. If you live alone, or are a two person home it's ideal. Things dry on hangers so there's minimal ironing."
