The trial of Corey and Kelly reaches a nail-biting conclusion, plus Hope’s actions leave Tyrone torn, and Curtis hits the bottle.

Kelly is in the witness box

The main focus continues to be the trial, where Kelly is now telling the court that it was Corey who attacked Seb and that she was begging him to stop as he was mercilessly kicked.

But lawyer Sabeen tries to paint a different picture and suggests that Kelly assaulted Seb in order to impress Corey.

As the day progresses, Kelly’s mother Laura takes the stand and claims that her offspring is a model daughter. But will her words sway the jury?

A verdict is reached

The jury deciding Corey and Kelly’s fate are sent out to deliberate on Monday, but Abi is desperate for them not to believe Corey.

Determined to unmask their evildoing, she sets out to find hard proof of Corey’s dad Sefan bribing a witness. Kevin, though, just wishes she’d leave the lawyering to Imran.

Friday’s episodes will then see the jury revealing its verdict, but as the Street later discuss the court’s findings, shock news comes in from the local prison…

Hope has trouble at school

Hope is returning to school and Chesney makes his feelings on the matter plain: he doesn’t want her anywhere near Joseph.

And pretty soon, Fiz and Tyrone are also left with cause for concern when they receive a call informing them that Hope isn’t settling in well. The trouble is, Tyrone is going to find it hard looking after her, at least in the short term, as he and Alina now have a trip booked to Romania. Kind-hearted Fiz tells him he should go as he’s in need of a break following all the recent troubles, but Ty can’t help but feel torn.

Curtis’s behaviour worries Emma

Curtis isn’t answering Emma’s calls and she fears he may have collapsed again, but he’s actually sitting alone in the Rovers drowning his sorrows.

In the end, Steve and Emma track him down to the pub, where Steve gives him a talking to about messing his daughter around. An apologetic Curtis then tells Emma how sorry he is and reveals that he just wants a proper diagnosis from the hospital and that the uncertainty is messing with his mind.

George comes clean to Eileen

Eileen has really gone to town on the eulogy she’s written for Patsy, all of which leaves George feeling awful because he knows that the ashes are actually Pat Phelan’s.

Full of self-loathing, he decides to admit the awful truth, but Eileen doesn’t take the news well and flees, ordering Todd to stay out of her sight as well.

Desperate to earn (or should that be ‘urn’?) Eileen’s trust, George eventually ends up disposing of the ashes in a manner that Eileen deems appropriate. But when he then suggests that they give their relationship another go, will a forgiving Eileen be tempted?
