Dev wants his naked pictures back
The naked calendar shoot goes ahead, but Dev ends up regretting taking part. Fearing that the images will scupper his chances of joining the golf club, he asks that his contribution be withdrawn.
Curtis promises he’ll do his best but fears it’s too late. And when Dev later sees the calendar for himself, he demands that the print run be halted.
Nick frets about Sam
Nick is asked by Natasha to have Sam for a week. But after all that’s happened of late, the normally confident Nick is now getting paranoid about things going wrong.
After Sam grazes his knee in the park, Nick can’t help but be worried. But Leanne is quick to point out that he’s just mollycoddling the poor boy. Later on, Sam wanders out onto the balcony, his headphones clamped over his ears. But after his calls for his son go answered, a frantic Nick leaps to the erroneous conclusion that Sam is missing and hares off in search of him.
Todd’s actions result in Billy’s resignation
Ed breaks the news to Billy that the insurance won’t pay for the stolen heat pump – an admission that leads to Weatherfield’s local archdeacon announcing that he’s now going to resign from his job.
Todd is horrified that his actions have resulted in Billy making such a drastic move. But Summer, who isn’t aware that Todd is responsible for the theft, ends up rounding on Paul and blaming him for the loss of Billy’s livelihood.
Laura is on a mission
Laura Neelan, the estranged wife of now very-much-dead loan shark Rick, is set to become more embedded in Street life.
First, she’ll be seen bagging a cleaner’s job at the factory, thanks to some efforts made by Imran. Then, after learning about Fiz’s article in the Gazette, she starts wondering whether there’s money to be made in Kelly’s story.
Hence her meeting with journalist Chris in the factory and asking him whether he’d be interested in turning her daughter's drama into a major news headline.
