'This Morning' star Eamonn Holmes shares first snap of new granddaughter

Eamonn Holmes has shared the first snap of his new granddaughter Emilia.

The This Morning presenter, 61, became a grandfather this week when his son Declan and his wife Jenny welcomed their first child.

Holmes announced the happy news on the ITV show and has now shared a sweet black and white image of the new arrival with his fans on Instagram.

“My First born Son Declan with his first born and my first Grandchild Emilia,” wrote the proud grandad.

“Welcome to The World Emilia. Just call me Papa.”

Holmes’ fans and famous friends were charmed by the adorable image.

“Congratulations,” posted Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, sharing a string of hearts in eyes emojis.

“Congratulations Papa,” wrote former Strictly star Ola Jordan, while presenter Gaby Roslin said it was “wonderful news”.

Presenter Amanda Lamb wrote: “I cannot bear how wonderful this picture is. What amazing adventures you’re all about to have xxx.”

Sharing his news this week, Holmes asked This Morning viewers to help him come up with a name that Emilia could grow up to call him.

“We came up with Grumps,” his wife and co-host Ruth Langsford joked. “But he wasn't too keen on that one.”

Holmes then said a friend of his went by “Papa” with his grandchildren and that he rather liked the sound of it.

Declan is Holmes’ eldest son from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes. The pair, who split in 1994, also share daughter Rebecca and a second son, Niall.

Holmes and Langsford first met in 1997 and tied the knot in 2010.

They welcomed a son named Jack in 2002.
