Michelle Heaton was 'days from death' after drink and drug binge but was saved by Katie Price
Michelle Heaton has told how she was just days away from death after three years of drink and drug abuse, but was saved by celebrity pals including Katie Price.
The former Liberty X singer has opened up on her struggles with addiction, admitting that they left her husband a single parent to their two children as she was unable to look after them.

Heaton, 41, spoke to The Sun just days after leaving rehab at The Priory and said: "I texted Katie (Price) while I was in The Priory, ‘You saved my life’."
Price, who recently had her own life-changing stay at The Priory, had been part of a group of friends who insisted she went into rehab for four weeks and footed the bill for her as they became so worried about her drinking and drug use.
Describing her lifestyle as "a suicide mission", Heaton admitted "ultimately I was killing myself" as she described having drunk up to two bottles of wine and a bottle of vodka in a day and snorting cocaine.
Heaton revealed that one therapist had told her "we didn’t know if you were going to make it" after measuring worryingly high level of enzymes in her liver when she arrived at The Priory.
She added that she was grateful to husband Hugh Hanley for sticking by her during her addiction, saying: "My husband wondered if I’d be alive when he woke up."
The TV star explained that she would carry a sparkling water bottle full of vodka everywhere with her and drink it throughout the day, often only waking up at lunchtime when she would begin drinking again.
She said that her reliance on drink and drugs had taken hold after she discovered she was a carrier of the BRCA2 gene, putting her at increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and had a double mastectomy in 2012 followed by a hysterectomy in 2014.

Heaton said she hadn't had therapy to process the surgery and said: "On paper I’m not recognised as a woman, I have no womanly organs. Without the HRT I’m just a walking nothing. But I felt I had to live with that pain and suffering myself because I made that choice."
Now, she has vowed: "I’ll never touch drugs or alcohol again because I’ll die."
