Matt Willis explores past addictions in BBC documentary
Matt Willis is set to share his past struggles with addiction in a new BBC documentary exploring why some people become dependent on drugs and alcohol.
The Busted star has had a successful career as a popstar, is now a West End theatre star and is happily married to TV presenter Emma Willis, who he has three children with.

But Willis, 39, has a troubled past with alcohol and drug addiction, which he will open up on in Matt Willis: Addiction and Me for BBC One.
He will tell viewers about his daily battle to stay clean in the film which will look back at some of his darkest days.
Through meeting and talking with others including families, leading experts, counsellors and support groups, Willis tries to understand why some become dependent on drugs and alcohol, what help is available and the latest developments in treatment.
Willis will try to find the reasons behind his addiction as he looks into his struggles with the support of his friends, family and wife.

He said: “Whilst I live an amazing life and I am hugely grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, when it comes to my mental health I still find myself battling with the ripple effects of my old addictions. I know I’m not alone and I’m determined to discover how others, like myself, can learn to live with this."
Max Gogarty, BBC commissioning editor, added: “We are so grateful to Matt for his bravery in opening up about an issue that impacts so many in this country. We have no doubt this film will not only help many struggling with addiction, but also those close to them, as Matt explores the ripple effects of addiction on loved ones as well as the individual.”
Willis hopes to be able to help others battling the same issues by finding out more from experts while he shares his story.
