Mariah Carey praises David Beckham's performance of All I Want for Christmas Is You
David Beckham might stand a chance at securing a Christmas number one, it seems. Certainly, Mariah Carey would buy his single.
Carey has made it clear she's a fan of the football legend's singing voice, commenting on a candid video of him singing along with her festive hit All I Want for Christmas Is You.

The video, shot by Beckham's wife Victoria, sees the 47-year-old quietly singing along, oblivious to the fact he is being filmed until he notices and Victoria jokes that he was "struggling with that high note".
Carey was impressed, though, commenting that it was her "new fave rendition" of the song that, as of 2017, had scored the singer more than $60m (£49m) in royalties due to its festive ubiquity.
Radio station Heart was also among the replies, suggesting that "we need a duet" between Carey and Beckham — a Christmas supergroup if ever there was one.
Kelly Rowland was also complimentary of Beckham's pipes, writing: "SINGGGGGGG DAVID!!!!!!".

Beckham finished the video by delivering a vocal run, after teasing Victoria with the suggestion that she would also struggle to hit the high notes.
X Factor winner Sam Bailey was particularly impressed by this final moment, popping into the comment section to praise "that note at the end".
Carey first recorded All I Want for Christmas Is You in 1994 and it was released as the lead single from her festive album Merry Christmas.
It has topped charts in 26 countries since then, only finally making it to the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 in the States in 2019.

As well as its chart performance, the song regularly appears on lists of the greatest ever Christmas songs and earned Carey her nickname as "the Queen of Christmas".
A 2016 study by The Economist suggested that Carey makes as much as $2.5m (£2m) from this song alone every single year.
