Kerry Katona has said she offered her daughter Heidi the chance to change her last name before attending a new school.

The mother-of-five revealed she was "worried" about the 14-year-old making friends and asked her if she wanted to disguise the fact her mother is the former Atomic Kitten singer.

Writing in her new! Magazine column, Katona, 40, explained: "Heidi had her first day at her new school last week. She was really nervous, bless her.

It comes as Katona and her family have moved up north to Cheshire from East Sussex meaning her children have had to change schools.

In addition to Heidi, she's also parent to Molly, 19, Lilly-Sue, 18, Max, 13, and Dylan-Jorge, seven.

She added that she had concerns due to the disruption in her offsprings' life.

"I feel really bad for all the children," Katona said. "They’ve had to move up here and leave their friends. Lilly hasn’t met anyone yet because she hasn’t had a chance to get out and about. I just want them all to be happy."

Katona is living in the rented property with her fiancé Ryan Mahoney and youngest four children while eldest daughter Molly lives in Ireland.

She also recently shared that she was "struggling" with her mental health amid the house move.
