Kate Garraway has revealed she’s had a “nightmare” week as her house flooded after the heavy rain.

The Good Morning Britain presenter lives on a hill in north London and said the bottom floor was “completely flooded” after the torrential downpours.

The TV star is getting ready for her son Billy’s 12th birthday party at the weekend and said she had to call on her husband Derek Draper’s dad and her children’s auntie to help her get things straight again after the water got in.

“I have lived the weather of the week,” she said on the ITV morning show.

“Severe flooding in the storms on Monday night.”

The presenter, 54, went on: “So I woke up on Tuesday morning – we live on a hill. So you come in the door at one level, and then you go down some steps to the back garden.

“So everything underneath was completely flooded, completely flooded."

"It is a total nuisance – a total nightmare," she added.

It’s not the first time that Garraway’s home has flooded.

It also happened in December last year, when Draper was still in hospital amid his long battle with the coronavirus.

Speaking at the time, the TV star said she’d had a “calamitous” time sorting things out after pipes leaked in the approach to Christmas.

Draper returned home in April after spending more than a year in hospital after contracting the virus, and now needs round-the-clock care.

Garraway and Draper tied the knot in 2005 and have two children – Billy, and 15-year-old daughter Darcey.
