Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb's biggest row erupts in Clarkson's Farm series 3
Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper have their biggest ever argument in Clarkson's Farm series three.
Amazon Prime's series three promises lots of drama as fans get their latest insight into life on Diddly Squat Farm. In the trailer, Clarkson comforted crying Lisa over Clarkson's Farm tragedy as a piglet appears to die. So it's no surprise then that Clarkson and Cooper lock horns in their biggest row yet.
They have become great friends while working on Clarkson's Farm together and filming for the documentary series. This series, Cooper gets his big promotion and the friends have a bet over who can make the most money from farming.
Cooper opened up about his turbulent friendship with Clarkson, how they have "amazing chemistry" but also how they shout at each other and get into rows. He said: "I think in this series we have probably our biggest ever argument."
Also the farmer revealed how him and Clarkson make up with each other following a fight. Cooper added: "But don't get me wrong, I love the man. I think when you're good friends with someone, and you have that amazing chemistry, it makes everything easier.
"Yes, we can argue, and yes, we can shout at each other, but at the same time, we’re friends. Two minutes after an argument, we can just agree to disagree and go for a cup of tea or go to the pub and have a pint. We have a good friendship and a good bond, I firmly believe. We treat each other to dinners, we’ll go out and say, “Who’s paying for this one”, and take it in turns. When it’s my turn we go to the cheaper restaurants."
Clarkson had no qualms sharing what triggers rows between them. He shared: "When we do things like trying to repair the dam, that's construction, and neither of us really know what we're doing there. So that was one of our big arguments. Then he was made to wear health and safety equipment, which nearly killed him because he stepped off the machine still attached to it and hit his head."
Clarkson admitted he finds it hard to argue with Cooper on farming because he personally knows less. Additionally, he pointed out his co-star often gets "very frustrated" with him. He said: "I struggle to argue with him about farming because he just knows more than I do (he gets very frustrated with me!)."
Clarkson and Cooper are always competing with each other on Clarkson's Farm. In series three, the two of them decide to bet who could make the most money. Clarkson got to work on his little projects on unfarmed land while Cooper put his efforts into making money from farming 400 acres.
Kaleb gave an insight into the competitive side of their friendship. He said: "We're always very competitive with each other. Of course I wanted to win. But at the same time, like I said earlier, we are a team and at the end of the day, I'm not there to harm the farm in any way. I want to make the farm money. But yeah, I wanted to prove myself that I could win and show people that I can think outside the box and make a little bit of money."
Clarkson revealed the series revolves around their bet. He said: "That's the backbone of the whole series. We have a 1,000-acre farm but since I bought it in 2008, we've only ever farmed 500 acres of it and the other 500 acres is wildflower meadows, streams, woods, and rough ground."
He further explained: "There are no crops growing, no animals, just countryside because the state of farming is so parlous at the moment. I bet Kaleb that I could earn more money from doing little projects on unfarmed land than he could from farming 500 acres.
"So while he was stuck with the traditional wheat, barley, and arable farming, I started harvesting blackberries, planting mustard, and using tiny little pockets of unfarmed land around the place. We harvested the nettles which normally are just a nuisance and tried to make them into soup. I got pigs into the woods: woods are normally empty of cash, no money comes from them, so I just did little bits and bobs like that to see if I could make more than he did."
