Jennifer Love Hewitt has confirmed she is expecting her third child.

The 42-year-old star of Party Of Five and I Know What You Did Last Summer shared her positive pregnancy test on social media.

Love Hewitt wrote on Instagram: "Oh baby! We have another one on the way. So excited to finally share this news with all of you. Thank you @clearblue for being part of our journey and giving us a platform to share this news!"

The 9-1-1 star added that she is supporting mother and baby health support organisation March Of Dimes.

Love Hewitt is married to actor Brian Hallisay, 42, who she met when they worked together on TV drama The Client List.

The couple are parents to seven-year-old daughter Autumn and five-year-old son Atticus.

Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff — who just welcomed her own third child in March — was among the celebrities offering their congratulations, commenting: "Congrats Love!"

Batwoman star Ruby Rose wrote "Oh my goodness!!! Congrats."

And Yes Day star Jennifer Garner wrote: "Love!!! Congratulations!!!"

Love Hewitt recently revealed watching the Framing Britney Spears documentary made her reflect on "incredibly inappropriate" and "gross" questions she was asked by the media as a young star.

She told Vulture of her experience doing publicity for 1997 horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer: "At the time that I was going through it, and interviewers were asking what now would be incredibly inappropriate, gross things, it didn’t feel that way. I mean, I was in barely any clothing the whole movie. For some reason, in my brain, I was able to just go: OK, well, I guess they wouldn’t be asking if it was inappropriate."

She added that now, as a "42-year-old woman with a daughter... I definitely look back on it and go, Ew."

She recalled: " At a press junket for I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, I remember purposely wearing a T-shirt that said 'silicone free' on it because I was so annoyed, and I knew something about boobs was gonna be the first question out of [reporters’] mouths."
