Helen Flanagan has revealed the terrifying hospital dash she had to make after falling over just days before going into labour.

The former Coronation Street star gave birth on 25 March to her son Charlie, her third child with footballer fiance Scott Sinclair after daughters Delilah and Matilda.

But she has told OK! magazine how the final days before Charlie arrived were fraught with worry after she suffered a bad fall and was offered an induction while being checked over at hospital.

Flanagan, 30, said: “Five days before my due date I’d had a bad fall and had to go to hospital."

Her mum had been looking after Delilah, three, while Flanagan attended a physio appointment for a bad back, but when she went to collect her daughter, the little girl ran out of the door towards a busy road.

The star acted quickly by grabbing for Delilah, but as she was wearing sandals she slipped and landed heavily on the ground.

Flanagan said: “I badly bruised my coccyx. I was a bit worried about it.

"When I went to hospital after the fall they asked me if I wanted to be induced but I chose not to as I thought it would be easier to give birth naturally.”

Baby Charlie ended up arriving on his dad's birthday, and Flanagan said Sinclair was a brilliant support to her during the birth.

She said: “In the end I had to give birth on my side because I couldn’t lie on my back because it was so painful. Thankfully Scott was an amazing birthing partner."

In previous interviews, Flanagan vowed not to have any more children after suffering so badly with hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness, during her third pregnancy that she found it impossible to look after her older children without her parents' help.

However, in her latest chat with OK!, Flanagan admitted she had changed her mind and wouldn't rule out another baby as she had always pictured herself with four children.
