The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have upped the ante on their recent visit to Scotland, as their schedule has been packed with royal engagements.

On 25 May the royal couple opened a new hospital, The Balfour, in Kirkwall, Orkney, before they made their way to Stormness.

Later in the day, after an outfit change for the Duchess, the pair visited the European Marine Energy Centre, where they spoke with staff and school children, as well as sailors and watched a tidal machine in full flow.

After heading out wearing camel shades earlier in the day, Kate went for a more relaxed look in the afternoon.

She opted for a pair of dark denim figure hugging skinny jeans, which she paired by See By Chloé low-heeled boots, and the Woodcock Advanced Jacket from Seeland.

Under the jacket, she wore a smart-casual polka dot printed blouse with a ruffle neck from Brora, which reminded us of the late Princess Diana's eighties style.

It was reminsicent of the soft blush prink ruffle blouse the Princess of Wales wore when she visited the Department of Health and Social Security in London back in 1982.

Kate's Dobby Cotton Blouse (which is also available to buy from John Lewis) is a charming design, as it has pie crust collar - a lightly ruffled neckline - and frilled cuffs.

It has a button fastening, long sleeves, and is made from a soft poly-cotton mix.

The polka dot print blouse is available in UK dress sizes 8 to 16, and retails for £119 from Brora.

This is not the first time the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, has turned to Brora for a royal engagement.

Cast your mind back to December 2020, for the three-day Royal Train Tour, which saw the Duke and Duchess journey from London Euston, to Scotland and Manchester. Kate wore a Troy x Brora Fair Isle jumper.

And it seems the frilled collar trend is here to stay too, as the mother-of-three has layered jumpers over shirts for a string of recent outings, and in her anniversary tribute to Prince William.
