While it puts sustainability front and centre, with solar technology, the house has all the mod cons for family living including a bespoke Bulthaup kitchen island with Gaggenau appliances, a library area and a cosy wood-burning stove to snuggle in front of during those chilly Autumn nights.

There is also a swish wet room with an impressive three piece suite and floor to ceiling windows, which allow natural light to flood into the sleek living space.

"There is flexibility for those looking to work from home with the additional study, which can become a fourth bedroom.

"Luxury suites and storage throughout further enhance this incredibly desirable home."

Outside, there is a beautiful wild flower green roof and meadow garden, which helps the property blend seamlessly with its country surroundings, as well as a Millboard decked terrace.

Adding to the eco-credentials the property has solar technology and zoned underfloor heating for a touch of luxe in the colder winter months.

In terms of location, the property is perfectly situated just short drive to local villages and the Peak National Park, for those bundled-up walks in the country.

Commenting on the unusual home Redbrik property consultant, James Bridgland said: "In over 20 years of working in property, I can't remember seeing anything similar in terms of the finish and styling.

"This is an outstanding house. It is contemporary, sustainable and is set in a superb location."

Anyone who is interested in embracing a more sustainable way of life can check out its credentials through the estate agent listing.

It isn't the only house offering a slice of the good life that has caught our eye recently.

Last month we were dreaming of moving to a gorgeous, off-grid house, nestled in the middle of Dartmoor, Devon.

The sweet little home, known as 'Autumn Wood', available for a not entirely unaffordable £600,000, is totally self-sufficient and offers its own solar panel system, natural spring to drink from and vegetable garden for home-grown dinners.

And back in August we'd mentally moved into Cumbria's Skiddaw House, which was officially 'the most remote house in England'.

Located in the wild landscape around Skiddaw Forest, 11 miles from Keswick in Cumbria, Skiddaw House is situated in 3.45 acres of private land and is only accessible on foot or by sturdy 4X4 vehicle.

Blame the pandemic but we actually quite fancy the idea of getting away from it all with just the local wildlife as our neighbours.
