Shark’s anti-hair wrap vacuum technology has been a huge hit, particularly with pet owners. A combination of combs and bristle guard prevents hair from getting tangled between its rollers.

And right now the IZ251UK Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is available for £299, that’s a massive £120 saving, as part of a summer sale at John Lewis.

But there’s more to this vacuum than clever hair wrangling. It also boasts one button Flexology. This basically means it’ll fold in half. As it can fold away from you, you can poke it under sofas and furniture (which saves a good deal of unwanted back-bending). It also makes the cleaner really easy to store away, as the folded version is freestanding.

To ensure you never run out of juice mid-sweep, the IZ251UKT also comes with two batteries. Fully cordless, you’re not tethered to a power plug. You can expect to get around 30-40 minutes per battery, but this varies depending on how often you use the high-power Boost mode. Helpfully, you can charge these Lithium Ion cells on or off the vacuum, or charge them both at once in the dual charging cradle.

Why we love it

This Shark comes with a DuoClean floor head able to cope with both carpets and hard floors. The dual brush design combines both a soft roller and hard bristle brush on a single head, so no time-wasting changes are required mid house clean.

The IZ251UKT can be used in full stick mode, or as a handheld without the extension wand. It’s relatively light at 4.1kg, so waving it around crevices and taking it up and down stairs isn’t much of a struggle.

It also comes with a bundle of useful accessories. A mini pet brush is ideal for cleaning hair from sofas and rugs. There’s also an upholstery brush, crevice tool, dusting brush, and a gentle anti-allergen dusting tool.

To help you better see what you’re doing, there’s LED lights which reveal dust balls lurking in the shadows. Finally, a removable 0.7-litre bin is provided for debris collection.
