David Beckham has bleached his hair like his sons in a bid to remind them that “dad did it first”.

The football star rocked the bleached blond look in the 90s and apparently decided to bring it back after his sons Romeo, 18, and Cruz, 16, showed off colourful new looks of their own.

Romeo is currently sporting the same do as his dad, while Cruz has dyed his hair bubblegum pink.

Beckham, 46, shared a snap of the trio on Instagram, which shows him looking pretty chuffed with himself and the boys looking a little peeved.

“Sometimes the boys need reminding who did it first in the 90s,” wrote the star.

“By the look on their faces they are not too pleased about it.”

Beckham added the hashtag “#DadDidItFirst”.

The footy ace’s new look went down well with his family, with his wife Victoria chiming in: “Dad did do it first and it looks even better this time round!!!!”

The couple’s eldest son Brooklyn, 22, also gave it the thumbs up, saying his dad’s hair looked “so cool”.

Others joked that the boys would have to work really hard to come up with a style that one of their fashion-forward parents hadn't already tried.

“Haha! Love that every reference they can possibly copy in 2021 started with mum and dad,” posted model Coco Rocha.

“Being cool is just a waiting game.”
