Danniella Westbrook undergoing reconstructive surgery to rebuild her face

Danniella Westbrook has revealed she is undergoing reconstructive surgery to rebuild her face.

The former EastEnders star suffered damage to her nasal septum as a result of past cocaine abuse and has also previously said that a botched surgery left her with osteoporosis which is making the bones in her face weaken.

She has now announced that she is having work done to “rebuild” her face and hopes it brings an end to “all the hate”.

Sharing a picture of herself on Instagram, Westbrook wrote: “Stage one of the four part journey of reconstructive surgery to rebuild my face and finally stop all the hate.

“I’m really happy with what @beverlyhillsaestheticsindeal has done today to prepare me for stage two.”

The actor, 47, added the hashtags “#grateful#noninvasive#stageone#surgery#sohappy”.

Westbrook found fame playing Walford’s Sam Mitchell in 1990.

She left the BBC soap in 1993 to pursue other projects but returned for several stints throughout the 1990s.

Westbrook's struggles with cocaine addiction were widely publicised in the tabloids throughout the 1990s and 2000s and the star said in 2019 that she was just one more relapse away from dying.

“I’ve got another relapse in me, but I don’t have another recovery,” she told The Sun at the time.

“It’s do or die for me.
