Danniella Westbrook has told fans she’s “really, really poorly” with Covid.

The former EastEnders actress, 47, said she was “gutted” and “fuming” after contracting the virus.

Sharing a video on Instagram which appeared to show her in bed, the star urged her fans to “stay safe” and take care of each other amid the pandemic.

“Just a quick update to let you know that yes, I've got Covid and I'm really, really poorly,” she said.

“I'm gutted, fuming.”

Westbrook said she knew people who had caught Covid even though they had had both of their jabs.

"It seems there's been a massive wave of Covid outbreak yet again and I'm one of the people that have got it,” she said.

"Look after yourselves, look out for each other and stay safe. Take care."

Westbrook added in the caption: “I have Covid yet everyone I know seems to be on social media having it as well …. What’s going on!”

Saying she was handing her social media platforms over to her management while she recuperated, the star said she was “sending love and light” to everyone.

Westbrook rose to fame fame playing Walford’s Sam Mitchell in 1990.

She left the BBC soap in 1993 to pursue other projects but went on to return for several stints throughout the 1990s.

The actress has also dabbled in reality TV, appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Dancing On Ice and Celebrity Big Brother.
