Carley Stenson has said she hopes her husband Danny Mac will be able to make it off stage in time to witness the birth of their first child.

The former Hollyoaks actors announced they were expecting their first child together in March. At the moment, Mac is starring in the West End production of The Mousetrap.

Stenson, who has appeared on stage herself in productions of Legally Blonde: The Musical and Shrek, told Hello! magazine: "I think I will definitely be calmer before the birth than ahead of a first night.

“For some reason I have been feeling really chilled throughout the pregnancy – but I do hope Danny gets there in time.”

The Mousetrap was the first West End production to resume shows following a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mac, 33, added: “I’m not sure what the plan is but I imagine it will be to get off stage as quickly as possible!
