'Bake Off' star Kim-Joy wrote 'very long bad review' for fitness instructor who left her in tears

The Great British Bake Off star Kim-Joy Hewlett left a "very, very long bad review" for a fitness instructor who left her in tears this week.

The 30-year-old, who was a runner-up in the 2018 series of the BBC show, told her Instagram followers that she hoped her message would prevent others from having a similar experience.

Hewlett shared a photo on Thursday of herself in tears in her car, writing that she had "walked out of an exercise class today due to a bullying instructor".

She added: "I cried afterwards in the car but this is mostly angry cries, as well as disappointed cries cause WHY are people like this?!, and most importantly happy cries because I stood up for myself. I walked out, and I called him out on his behaviour."

On her Instagram Stories, she elaborated on the incident, in which the instructor criticised her technique in front of the rest of the class and accused her of "making s*** up".

In a new update to her 300,000 followers, she said: "Don't worry!!! I have a left a very very long bad review for the person at the gym I went to. Hopefully will help others from having the same experience.

"I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews — but I think that's 'cause most people who leave a class feeling rubbish just end up blaming themselves and wanting to erase it from their minds.

"And then there are only good reviews from people who are reasonably adept with the exercise, and can't put themselves in other people's shoes."

In another post, Hewlett reflected on the support she had received after sharing the tearful selfie, stating she wanted to show that "crying is not a weakness".

She added: "There is definitely strength in vulnerability and crying is definitely a superpower."

Hewlett won fans for her trademark animal-themed bakes on The Great British Bake Off, which took her all the way to the final, which was won by Rahul Mandal.

She has since published the cookbook Baking with Kim-Joy: Cute and Creative Bakes to Make You Smile.
