The Apprentice has revealed its new season candidates who will be vying to become Lord Sugar's new business partner.

Lord Sugar may well be well past retirement age at 76 but he clearly has no intention of stepping down as chairman of the boardroom in the BBC reality show.

This will be the 18th series of the popular contest, which sees confident, aspiring entrepreneurs compete for a £250,000 investment in their business proposal from the billionaire Baron.

The last series of the show came to an end in March 2023 when Marnie Swindells won an investment in her boxing club business, in an all female final.

Who could fight off the boardroom competition this time around? Here's what we know so far about series 18 including meeting all of this year's contestants...

Who has been fired from The Apprentice?

Week 1 - Oliver Medforth

Sales executive Ollie Medforth from Yorkshire was the first candidate to leave the competition after receiving walking orders from Lord Sugar following his group's fumbled attempts at running a corporate away day in the Scottish Highlands.

It was team leader and self-professed event expert and DJ Virdi Singh Manaria who led this week's task and while the activity portion of the day appeared to be semi-successful, activity in the kitchen ahead of the meal portion of the event didn't run so smoothly. A lack of alcoholic drinks left customers wanting, while cold food which was served late resulted in several refunds requested by the client.

Virdi brought Ollie and Management Consultant Steve Darken back into the boardroom and after a tense discussion, it was Ollie who was on the receiving end of Lord Sugar's firing finger. "It's a shame because he's a nice lad," said Sugar after the deed had been done, warning Virdi and Steve that they mustn't make the same mistakes again.

Which familiar faces are returning?

Lord Sugar will be joined in the boardroom by Baroness Karren Brady and former Apprentice winner Tim Campbell as his trusty advisors.

Campbell took over as boardroom advisor from Claude Littner in 2022, after he was forced to pull out for medical reasons.

Littner, 74, was injured in while riding an electric bicycle in 2021 and Campbell stepped in to replace him.

Fans were delighted to see Littner back for the interview round last series and will hope to see him again this year.

And comedian Tom Allen will be back to host spin-off show The Apprentice: You’re Fired, which airs on BBC Two and iPlayer.

The Apprentice airs on BBC One and iPlayer every Thursday.
